Quotes for today

Couln't resist, I was looking for some motivational quotes today: When you have a dream you've got to grab it and never let go. - Carol Burnette Millions of words are written annually purporting to tell how to beat the races, whereas the best possible advice on the subject is found in the three monosyllables: 'Do not try.' - Don Parker

What's on my Ipod

So the other day I am listening to Moments by Emerson Drive and the song just struck me. I really like the chorus, for some reason this just speaks to me... I've had my moments, days in the sun Moments I was second to none Moments when I knew I did what I thought I couldn't do Like that plane ride coming home from the war That summer my son was born And the memories like a coat so warm A cold wind can't get through Lookin ' at me now you might not know it But I've had my moments.

Graduation Day!!

Well yesterday was the big day for me, graduation came and went so fast! As we were getting in order we could hear the church bells ringing for our ceremony, and then the bag pipe player started...I wish I could describe the feeling I felt, the great sense of accomplishment as I began the walk towards the gym. The sun was shining down on us as we marched together, it was almost surreal. As we walked into the gym people stood up and cheered for us and I was so proud of everyone there. The energy was palpable,, as I scanned the crowd I could see Loni and her mom on one side, and my mom and dad on the other side of the gym. As I walked up to the stage and handed the announcer my name card I could feel the tears starting to come..but as I crossed the stage I just HAD to lift up the arms to do a WHOOHOO as I accepted my diploma on the other end of the stage. After 12 years and so many hours of studying instead of hanging out with friends or my loved ones this was MY moment. And the fact tha

Another Monday!

Oh what a usual Monday , things were busy at the office but that is to be expected. A friend of mine sent me this link..crazy, I don't know how it works but I tried it a few times. Click on the little man on the right... http://digicc.com/fido/ I had another revelation this morning while I was in the shower. On Aug 1, 2007 while I am getting ready to journey over 300 miles for the Aids Network on my bike, exactly 10 years have passed since my serious medical problems. For those that remember, I was in the hospital for a long time, had skin grafts, had to endure the Hyper Baric Oxygen Chamber and months of dressing changes and pain. So who knew that 10 years later, 1. I would still be alive, and 2. I would be able to do the things I can do in my life. So, I wouldn't be where I am without the wonderful nurses in the Burn Unit (Kate) Life is an amazing gift!

The WWW

So I have decided that I am extremely happy that the WWW has evolved so much during my lifetime. I remember in my high school library we had 1 computer with Internet and you couldn't really even use it, we still had the good ole' fashioned card catalog (do they still have this? don't know) Anyway, I digress...with the Internet changing it has brought us Yahoo and Google, I think I use this daily. Myspace and facebook , neither have I used until this last year. I have been able to reconnect with friends from high school and past jobs on myspace and facebook just brought me the opportunity to get in touch with 3 of my nieces that I have not seen in almost 10 years. I read my cousin's blog almost every day and read how she interacts with her nieces and nephews and all the pictures of them, I didn't get those chances. But, thanks to modern technology I am able to see what beautiful women they are growing into, and 1 just got married on my birthday last weekend! On th

my how time flies

Well I can't believe it's been almost a month since I wrote on here..I read different blogs every day yet I cannot seem to write in my own sometimes. I suppose I should have a laundry list of excuses, but school, work and life just seem to keep me busy. Graduation is next saturday!! I am so frickin excited, what I have been working towards for 12 years is finally right there..hopefully I will get some good pictures that I can post on here. Anyway, on friday I will hop in the van with mom and dad as we make the 4 hour trek to Iowa for saturdays events. I did find out that I am graduating with honors so I am SO excited about that. Anyway, anyone that knew me back when, knows that I am not much of a student and I will have no love lost to be done with school. I have worked my ass off and at least I got a good reward at the end. I still have classes until June 30 which is someone's version of a joke I think but I am a tough cookie I can take it! Its been such a struggle latley
